It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas

As most of you crazy people were out shopping for Black Friday we were decorating for Christmas!  James and Mama started to day off bright and early @ 4:45 with breakfast and watching all the shoppers on the news!  This little guy is quite the early bird!   As a family tradition my Mama started we take down our fall decorations and start decorating for Christmas!  Matthew and I hope to keep this tradition going and making the day after Thanksgiving a relaxing day at home to decorate our home for Christmas and spend the day as a family.   James started with his Christmas jammies!

It has been so fun decorating our home for Christmas!  My favorite moment was showing James his first Christmas tree!  He was in awe at the lights!

While at the Christmas gift and hobby show in early November we came across…SANTA!!  James and Santa got to talk…mostly Santa listened while James talked to him!  I guess Santa is used to this.  After 8 pictures I finally captured this one!

Here are some of our holiday decorations...

Thank you Katrina & Dawn for watching HGTV for this great idea!

James' first Thanksgiving

This was my first holiday to host in our new home…or EVER!  I loved every minute of it!  I have always wanted to host holidays and have lots and lots of family over!!  Matthew and I joined some of our family this year.  We had the Toole’s, McPherson’s, Elliott’s and Morrow’s!  This was wonderful to have everyone in one place and not have to travel around with an almost 4 month old and a less social than me husband!  Our menu was a pitch-in!  We loaded up on deep fried turkey, mashed potatoes, dressing, green beans, macaroni and cheese, fruit salad, rolls, and lots of desserts!!   I am so grateful for such an amazing family that loves to help!
This was James’ official first holiday…we didn’t count Halloween!  He had a great time and hardly napped at all!  James is very, very social!!  He won’t sleep when there’s a lot going on in fear he will miss something!!

As he was passed from one person to another he entertained everyone with his charm, smile, and talking!  This little boy is something special and he is what I am most thankful for this Thanksgiving and always!  Last Thanksgiving is when Matthew and I found out we were having a baby!  Here’s a preview of how we told our parents!  We gave them a “Thanksgiving card” the days following.

And one year later….James is here, healthy, and the most amazing little guy we’ve ever known!

From our family to yours…HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Here’s some more pictures of our thanksgiving!
